Anyone have a recommendation of where to stay, if not specific hotel then what part of town would be most convenient? Looks like SV is pretty far south of town and that day drive is s/w of LV. Sunday is SE and E of LV? Where are group dinners being planned, that will have a lot to do with where to stay.

Its only about 4 hrs from here to LV so this might be doable. The following weekend we are off to ABQ for the balloon festival so would have to head home Sunday afternoon, maybe after Valley of Fire drive.

I think most folks stayed on The Strip last year, can't recall where - as I'm local

I always suggest people stay downtown; cheaper rooms, cheaper drinks, cheaper food. The D, and the Golden Nugget have nicely updated rooms.

but let one of the other folks chime in on where they're staying.

I'll probably stay on the strip - lots of stuff to walk to once driving is no longer a good idea.

I am still slowly recovering from back surgery - so can't commit to how many activities I will be able to participate in.

at a minimum: I will be at the morning events.... and hopefully I can drive Bertha.

Welp, the event this year is a bust. Several "regulars" were forced to cancel, and the post-back-to-school date turned out to be a lousy choice. Thanks for your interest...we'll try again come spring!
