Ramps suggestion
Ok, so I want to get ramps to do oil changes and simple things under my 996. I was just doing research online and the best rated are RhinoRamps. However, I'm seeing a lot of reviews and pics of them collapsing. Now I'm not sure what to get. Any suggestions?

I use Rhino Ramps for oil changes. Of course, I also keep a jack under one side and a jack stand (or whatever will fit) under the other. I don't trust anything.

I love my set, but with that being said THEY MUST BE USED ON FLAT EVEN SURFACES. If there is any unevenness, then you are taking a risk. I only use mine in the garage, or the very flat concrete driveway.

Used rhino ramps for years, only issue I've had is putting the car up by myself and stopping them slipping as I drive up.
My driveway isn't completely flat and no real problems

I have used rhino ramps for many years and on many cars and like them. That being said I always put jack stands under the car as a back up. For my Porsche I have found "Liftbars" to be the best answer for any work in my garage. A tremendous gift to all of us from the designer/manufacturer.

There is not a single news story about Rhino ramps failing. I'm guessing it's BS. If they were cracking apart and failing, they would be out of business. I use them for oil changes and never worry about it. Most other work involves removing the wheels so I use jack stands.
If you're concerned and want to make your own, check out post #18 in this thread - http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=308375

I'm twitchy about mine, I think the 996 rear tires are too wide for them to be ideal and I always back everything up with stands before I go underneath when I use them. I've only had my (~5000lb) truck on them once....did not like what I saw and heard, won't do that again.

You should actually try googling "Collapsed rhino ramps" then.
