Default My Double Din Install

Installed a Pioneer double din head unit into my 2001 996 using the factory amp and speakers. Sounds awesome and its obviously a much better looking radio. Makes the car look like a 2016 rather than a 2001 lol. My only issue is the USB cable which I ran through the cigarette lighter hole. I removed the lighter but does anyone know where I can get a piece that snaps in there and holds the cable? I know Ive seen other Porsches with this upgrade, I just can't find it. Thanks in advance!

TH964, Thanks for the response! I do have one blank toggle on the drivers side, maybe I could do that there. It looks like a dremel tool was used to do that? Im thinking about using a hole saw to make a circle out of wood the diameter of the cigarette hole, then cutting out the slot for the USB. But I swear I have seen these adaptors for the Porsche.

So by glove compartment you mean the "shelf" under the steering wheel?

I cut a small hole in my pocket, then put a rubber grommet around the hole and threaded a lightning cable through it. I was able to then cut a pretty small hole in the rubber that lines the pocket and poke the cable through. Less work than doing it in the horseshoe, but probably doesn't look quite as "factory". but I tuck the cable back into the pocket when I'm not using it and it works well. Sorry for the crappy pic, but you can get the idea:

The stereo looks very nice. I just cut a hole in the top of the cubby and ran my wire down.

Awesome job! I love mine as well! It definitely was a big update to my car! I have my USB cable on the passenger floor well, running up by the passenger seat. I think I will keep mine this way, so that I do not have a cable coming out my dash. I much rather my phone connector coming out beside the seat.
