Default Lift for engine pull. 03-C4

So just curious what short lifts have been found to lift a car high enough to get the motor out?
I'll be using a 4 post, but got to wondering what to do if I don't have access to the lift sometime down the road..

Quickjack?
Rotary ?
Whats worked..

Where've you been? I was wondering about you. Glad to see you back. I'm no help on this but I'm sure you'll get it figured out.

QuickJack (tm) is probably not high enough, although if the bumper is off, it might work.
A mid-rise jack would work.
A 4 post works for sure.

I plan to invest in Maxjax very soon for this reason.

And I just changed my mind after seeing a recent post with pics. Quick jacks with SUV adapters will get the job done for engine removal.

Four post lift for an engine pull sounds like a pain in the butt. Every time I try to do anything on a four post I find the ramps get in the way.

I did it just with jack stands on top of 2 2x10s screwed together. Used a floor jack to support the trans, and a trans jack with some wood on it to support the motor. I think using a 4 post would be very tough.

I have since gotten a two post, and it makes everything 1000x times easier.

I don't even own a 2 post lift. I do everything on a 4-post

Yikes. At least you are smart enough to hang it off the back like that. Much better access!

I removed mine with a 4 post, but had to relieve a small section of the lift to clear the cam covers

In the what did you do to your 996 today there was a post about dropping the engine with the Quick Jacks. Looks like you can get enough clearance with SUV adapters. Might be worth checking out.
