Default Spark Plug Replacement Issue - please help!

Need some help from fellow rennlisters. Long time lurker here (like 14 years). Finally in a place where I was able to get my hands on a PORSCHE - the dream of course. Proud new owner of a '04 996 C4S with 69k miles. PPI showed that the plugs and coils were original to the car and should be replaced. Decided to take on the project over the weekend. I'm a mild DIYer. I consider spark plugs and coils to be a relatively simple task, especially on straight 4 and 6 cylinder motors located in the front of the car .
Jacked up the car, got fed up of working in a tiny space and ended up taking the bumper and mufflers off. I'm essentially done with the job, except that I am now left with a loose hose (vacuum? coolant overflow?) that hangs over cylinder one (driver side, farthest back). I'm just trying to figure out where the hose comes from and where it goes so I can put it all back together.

Any input?

TIA.

So in that case it connects to nothing, so OP has nothing to worry about.

Where is it normally routed to? Certainly it's not setup to drain onto the ignition coil?

It just hangs like that so you're fine. It's indeed very close to one of the ignition coils. If your coils are healthy and have no cracks, nothing to worry about even if you pour water all over them.
