Default what is the center section of the ln deep sump used for?

I'm installing an LN .5 qt deep sump extension in conjunction with an X-51 pan and baffel. The pan extension and pick-up extension I get. But, what is the small center spacer? Is it used with an aftermarket baffel? Or, is it intended to be used with the OEM X-51 pan?

If you think about it, the oil pan spacer for the additional .5 quarts lowers the pan, so you need to raise the baffles. Pretty simple.

Thx.; you are right! At first I couldn't see what retained the baffle riser and wondered if the x51 pan was different than the m96. But after I taking a look at how it locks into the oem lip, I see now that it doesn't stack, but

rather fits securely around the perimeter of the oem casting lip.
