Personally I don't care about $ value. This car is so much fun to drive. We have a 2016 Corvette that will run rings around the 996, but while being awesome, it is antiseptic. Perhaps that is the best way to describe the 996. Maybe one of the last analog (mostly) cars out there. For those who don'y get it, that is their loss.
I sometimes think of what a 30,000 mile 993 (my 996 is at 37k, bought at 26k) would cost compared to what I paid for my 40th --$75k, 90k ??
not mention the drop in HP, a little less space, temperamental A/C and heat
+ is it a seventy five thousand dollar driving experience whereas the 996 with very few additions, punches far outside of it's weight class
993's were iconic, no doubt..but to be outperformed at 1/2 the price is just goofy
