C4S as a daily, who does it?

My C4s is not a DD per se, but I drive it as much as I want, typically 3-4 days a week and seems to be very functional all around for travel, running errands or just getting my mind off things, lol.
I’m currently running Bridgestone SO3 and going to Michelin’s this summer, please report back with your thoughts on the two.

Daily drove mine in Chicago for 2 years and now in Colorado...even as my ski vehicle. They are more than capable. Only warning is if you have a lot of stop/go traffic and a 6MT, your left leg might not like it so much.

Yup, I drive the C4S daily, or certainly every other day. But here winter is defined as "slightly cooler with occasional rainy days". I use it for all kinds of things, but have the Tiptronic which (to me) makes the car more accessible. I have yet to develop an appreciation for garage queens; these cars are so terrific that .... I don't want to be on my death bed wondering why I didn't drive it more when I had the chance.

I daily mine in Houston unless it is raining or I am parking at the airport. Then I let my Hyundai take the hits. I just replaced my PS2s with a fresh set. It was just over $1,500 including getting my rim repaired at Discount Tire. It took a week to get them because they had to come from the Michelin factory. This was early February and the only stock was winter tires.

Great feedback gents! I've never been a fan of "saving it for someone else", even when I had 2 vehicles I still drove it 3-4x.
I am in Houston & it is a 6MT, doesn't bother too much. I've come to accept Houston traffic is horrendous pretty much any time of the day lol
New rubbers is high on the list, anyone have interest in a good set of Bridgestones?

I daily drive mine. To be fair though, I usually work out of my home office or the local Starbucks. Last year I put about 5,500 miles on it.
Pre-porsche I used to have a 'weekend' car and a daily. The result was I drove the daily all the time and it was rare that I actually got to drive the fun car. I spent more on insurance, just as much on maintenance, and rarely got to enjoy driving. Then I sold the cars and decided moving forward I wanted a fun, 'reliable', car that I could drive daily. First up was a BMW Z4 that was fantastic and now the C4S which is even better in most respects.
I have 19s on my car and run Pilot Super Sports. These are the same model tire that were on it when I bought it, so I can't comment about the noise from them being good or bad.

I DD my C4S all year long. Only <5 miles to the train station, so I take indirect routes to let the the car get up to temp. If the car is clean, and rain is in the forecast, I'll take the SUV. Also same if snow is in the forecast due to summer tires, although I did drive home from Tech Tactics a few years ago in a snowstorm. Averaging just under 5k/yr overall.

I semi-daily mine. I drive it 3-4 days of the week to work during the winter. Every morning I come out and ask my son to choose, and he always choose the 911. I might end up fully daily it over the summer months.

I have been daily driving my 04 C4S for a few months now. It has 19in snows on now. It has been thru Rain, Sleet, Snow and Dumb A$$ drivers (which there seem to be more of). Not an issue. It is a little tank AND the looks on peoples faces cracks me up in the snow. Some smart 4x4 driver always pulls up behind me in nasty weather and goes around. I speed up a bit and wave hehehe. I drive the 2002 C4S almost daily in Colorado. Plenty of cold and a bit of snow. Blizzak's in the winter of course. On obvious snow days I take the truck, but have gotten caught unexpectedly at work with 4" of snow, no problem. Drive these things daily!

I’m not sure why anyone in their right mind would want to DD a car on average 17-19 years old. There similar to driving a late 60’s early 70’s muscle car. Fun to drive here and there but hardly enjoyable daily.

Probably that very small, tiny, minuscule, hardly countable, and special subset of 996 owners who really love driving the car.

Because you can. It is a very sturdy and safe car if well taken care of. My speed yellow C4S is a blast to drive and I have been using it for a daily for some time. Don’t get much snow in Charlotte but plenty of rain and twisty roads. My commuter car was a Volvo C30R and couldn’t wait for the weekends to drive the Porsche. I finally decided to try commuting in it and haven’t turned back.
