Only 15 months of ownership and 8,000 miles, but so far, $0.09/mi
Had the car only 15 months and put on 8,000 miles and only 2 repairs: trunk hood latch and rear window regulator. I did the work myself, but it’s only cost me $750 so far including those repair and 2 oil/filter changes. |
Awww......I'm sorry. Don't worry, it'll cost you more soon I'm sure. Just hang in there. ;)

Congrats! I have had my car 10 months and 7,000 miles. First oil change was free from the dealer the second cost me I believe $90 to do myself. Other than that I had to clear an airbag light that never came back and my window regular got noisy switched it out for $55. This car is bleeding me dry has cost me $145 so far.
Maybe we can get other people posting their low cost maintenance stories here too. |

Like I tell people, you can get a Toyota Corolla or a used 911. Which one would you prefer? The Corolla will be dated in 5 years and dead in 10. The 911 (if maintained) will be going strong after your 10 years of ownership. I drove my '82 911 to 295K miles, the 968 is over 200K and going strong.

I discovered a left headlamp bulb was out. I had to order one for $4.85. I ended up getting 2 and shipping was more than 1 bulb. Still, I’m looking at $18.65 to replace both. Sometimes it’s nice to have something that’s low-tech :) |

Yeah, I’m just asking for trouble - NOT smart! |

Meh, who wants to ride around in a Corolla?
fuel mileage? -don't care reliability? -don't care maintenance cost? -don't care resale/investment value -don't care what the neighbors think? -don't care the 3 hours I spent in a Porsche 911 Sunday afternoon - priceless, and the only measure I need :) |
