super quick transmission question

I did a search and I'm probably not getting the right key words.. anyway. is the bold pattern for a boxster s and 996 trans (manual) the same? meaning if i had an adaptor kit made to mate a different motor to the boxster s would i be able to use that same adaptor kit for my 1999 996 to mate a motor to the 996 transmission?

i aleady have a couple adaptor kits made for my boxster when i was thinking about swapping out the motors but i never followed through with it and i now have these kits and my thoughts are spinning about what fun i could have with the 996.

just curious.

Thanks guys

I would ask Charles Dundon at Dundon Motorsports....He has put a 997S engine in a 2001 boxster and well as a 991.2 GT3 engine in a 2001 boxster. So if he doesn't know, nobody knows. :-)

so another question.. sorry guys if this is newbie stuff. I'm trying not to ask silly questions but some of the silly answers I just cant find online.

can the manual trans from the 911 be ran with out any electrical? I feel like I just asked the most retarded question someone could ask lol but I don't know anything about this yet and trying to do my research. I have a set up that I know has not been done in a Porsche yet that I was going to put in another car and I think it would be quite a unique Porsche if I can pull it off... and a monster ;)

My manual transmissions (2000 and 2002 911) only have one electrical connection on the transmission: the reverse light switch.
