Default left bank not firing

My friend has a 2000 996, bought as a non running project. He replaced the coil packs today, the car fired up idles fine but the left bank is cold. No fuel in the exhaust. Any ideas?

"idles fine" and "left bank cold" kinda contradict themselves.
Start with basics, every cylinder needs three things to run, compression, fuel, ignition.

Test compression, then test for fuel, then test for ignition/timing. Report back for more detailed help.

What does that mean - left bank cold? If it starts, runs, idles fine, and is not throwing misfire codes, then I don't understand what the problem is. The DME/ECU will definitely throw codes for problems to look for if the entire left bank is not working correctly, and the car will run like crap, not idle and will probably not run. You need to provide more precise information on "left bank cold".

Getting back to all who replied, thanks for the feedback. The car does idle fine, and has cold exhaust. No valvetrain noise. Pulled plugs no spark, no fuel. Told him to get codes. Most likely DME.

It can’t “run” and be cold... I also doubt that the engine would run on only 3 cylinders... I smell a troll...🙄

The car absolutely can run on one bank, The crank is still turning and moving pistons and valve train. If you don't have any constructive advice don't assume everyone is trolling. I have way better things to do than waste everyones time on forums.
