FABSPEED MOTORSPORT | 996 Sport Headers

One of the biggest constriction points on the 966 Carrera is the OEM Manifolds as exhaust scavenging and flow are compromised due to uneven OEM Primary Tubes.
One easy way to mitigate this issue is Fabspeed's equal length Sport Headers. Our Sport Headers provide improved torque and equalized engine pulsing thanks to industry-exclusive mandrel-bent primary tubes.
Fabspeed's Sport Headers are a direct bolt-on upgrade/replacement of the factory headers on all Porsche 996 Carrera vehicles. Creates+15 HP (whp) +12 TQ (ft/lbs) and saves -2 lbs.

are there dyno sheets to back this up with the headers being the only mod?

I have Fabspeed mufflers, interested in installing these Fabspeed Headers, but I have seen that one can never get all the bolts out when removing the old headers without breaking one or more studs. Anyone that may have removed their headers ever dot it without breaking any of the studs. If you did break any, how succesful were you removing the broken stud.

I have broke one on each side - I put it in vice and used a pointed punch and knocked it out- it takes a few good smacks with heavy hammer

Tighten the bolt slightly before breaking loose. That’s the best way. Might be even better to also add heat. Using the stomski tool makes it easy.

Ive heard talk of the stomski tool, exactly what is it and where do you get one?

Stromski is a tool - you don't need to extract if it does not break - save your money, the stromski work well if you break a header bolt off in head

Lol , in takes , chipped , headers , 200 cell cats and mufflers 8 k spent , youre lucky to see 8 hp total improvement on a motor that sees 100 hp/ litre stock on the rolling road

Everything Fabspeed sells adds significant hp and torque...........yeah, right.

Jnelso 02-18-2018 10:33 AM

You are probably right, without other mods just replacing exhaust system wont do much for performance.

Headers, chip, intake, mufflers, cat seem to do a lot more than 8hp. More like 20-30rwhp at various parts of the rpm range.

Let's see the test sheets

I personally havent done this before but i read a procedure once of:
- drive car to get the engine hot
- soak bolts in pen fluid overnight
- resoak then remove

That was by memory but seems to make sense
