the cam was sitting still on the suction cup while the mic got free of its suction cup somehow. I was lucky that it wasn't the other way round.

LOL, gotcha. Looking at the footage I thought you noticed the camera for the first time after you noticed the microphone fall off. <- That is definitely something I am capable of doing

Yep. Scored from Aliexpress. Apart from the lousy stitching around knuckles, they are great. Very comfortable and really help in preventing slip.
