996 fuel door actuator inop

996 fuel door actuator inop
has anyone changed out this actuator? I have the fender liner off and see the gas tank sensor but a lot stuff in way to the actuator.any help or tips would be appreciated.

Doesn't work as in the pin isn't there? The solenoid does not activate? There is a little noise but no movement?
Is the emergency cable pulled? Fuses B8, C3, E1 good?

Just replaced passenger fender. If you do replace actuator, remove the charcoal canister and you can get to the fuel door locking actuator. Three squeeze and snap plastic line and one 10mm nut. The canister is held on by two rubber grommets.

I think a good tome to mention.... there is an emergency dorr release. Many don't know it's there. Open the passenger door. On the inside of the pillar, adjacent to the door, is a small metal wire loop. Tug it and the door will open.
