996 Battery Drain on Sound Package Circuit
Hello,
I have a parasitic battery drain on my 04 996 on the D9 fuse circuit (labelled as Sound Package in the fuse list). My car has the factory fitted BOSE fibre optic sound system. The BOSE amp has 3 connectors. The orange wired fiber optic, a small black plug and a much larger plug containing a lot of pins. Whenever the large plug is connected there is a draw on the car battery of something like 230/240 ma. The draw remains at this level until the battery goes flat (i.e. it does not reduce over time as it would as specific system switch off). As soon as the large plug is removed from the amp the draw goes down to an acceptable 30ma. Removing either of the other plug does not reduce the draw. Thing is I have removed the PCM 2 unit from the car and am still getting the same behaviour. Any suggestion as to what is going on would be very welcome as I am pulling my hair out. I would have assumed that the amp got its power from the PCM 2 unit can anyone confirm that?
Thanks in advance.
