After wanting a 911 for as long as I can remember (had a Matchbox 911 when I was 7), and after about a 1.5yr search I finally found "the" one and crossed Porsche off my list of cars to own (this also took care of all wheel drive and rear engine). I have owned close to 20 cars and almost 40 motorcycles so not really a stranger to DYI but will have plenty of questions for you guys here, after I finish reading the owners manual and a The Essential Companion. This forum and you guys have already been helpful, thanks for providing this resource. Also, thanks to James at Gerber motorsports that took care of a few things for me, if you ever need a Seattle indy tech. Car sits on H&R springs, I am looking for A. different rims... BBS, HRE or Rotiform, etc. and, B. a local shop to do the Gundo mod (will start a separate thread for that). Its an 02, C4S btw, 6spd. No, I don't need engine mounts.... well, maybe. And clear lenses. Cheers, Peter Passed emissions and got plates/tabs earlier this week then meet a Rennlist member Collin who sold me his HREs! Got gas, new wipers and went for a drive.... PS, His blue fully built (documented here) c4s, rwd now is just amazing.... someone buy it! its a steal of a deal! His parts selection, knowledge (which he was kind enough to share some of with me, thank you!) and attention to detail are amazing! I guess I don't have a rear wiper either.... hm. PSS, Lobsters and tires are for sale (Cups). 2/3/18 Gundo done, New deck and back up cam...... HID next. Update: 3/12/18 HID done, will do a separate https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...4811722aac.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...255d67bbf4.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...3592593d4a.jpg |
Nice, welcome to the C4s club and to rennlist. She looks like a beaute, but how about some daytime photos? It’s funny how many folks open like that (I did too), apparently the 996 has become the cat that dreams are made of. Of course we all had a 964 or 959 on our walls but you know what I mean. Word of caution: don’t spend too much time here. You’ll be busier than ever and a bit paranoid too, lol. |
@jllphan Thanks! So far, picked it up from the owner on the 16th, dropped it off at Gerber's the same night, picked it up last night and this morning I just did emissions and tabs... so I really haven't even driven it! Better pics to come, maybe when/if the sun ever comes out.... this lighting is terrible... looks like its 10pm and overcast. I am way too busy to lurk for too long on forums but you know, this is new and shiny to me still so I'm excited, still learning/figuring it out. Cheers!

She's a beaut, congrats! I kind of like the lobster claws, I think it suits it with the springs and the black paint.

Looking damn good on those HRE wheels! You may want to consider adding a spacer to the rear wheels especially :icon107: Based on your 5th photo @ vandersmith's house.
|
Welcome! Oh I don’t miss those wet streets, mossy lawns, and emissions booths. |
@hawk, ya.... but the summers are nice, clean air, lakes, ocean and mountains..... @Dr, i know huh? the thought did cross my mind!!!

Live in Seattle for nearly 5 years. (Queen Anne) I miss the wet streets, mossy lawns, and an entire city shutting down over 0.125" of snow. Also, is that vandersmith's scissor lift you were using? Every time I see it, I think I need to buy one...
|
I look forward to see this car around in Seattle :-)

@sweet, yes... he is super nice and generous, i can take lessons from him about being a better person, this city has jaded me a little. hes a breath of fresh air and wealth of knowledge. @lowpue, lets meet up and do one of the cars and coffees or exotics in redmond.....
ps, no go on my gundo hack at Top Gun Muffler in sumner, turns out Neil there is a complete idiot. was SO nice to get up at stupid o'clock on my day off and spend 3hrs in traffic on a rainy monday on 3 different highways tho! |
