Time for New Motor Mounts?
I replaced my motor mounts soon after I got my 996, about 4 years and 35K miles ago, with OEM parts. Thinking maybe it's about time for new mounts.
Anyone use Stomski Semi Solid mounts? https://www.stomskiracing.com/produc...nt=25154815043

I just replaced the OEM with a semi solid and while I'm happy with them, it took time getting used to the tightness - every vibration could be felt during idle and acceleration.

If you want to move away from oem , semi solids are a good option , I have wevos in my car , but there are other brands that work just as well , I'm not familiar with that one you posted
scan in North van keeps wevos in stock . Other wise pelican online

Pelican sells the Stomski mounts. I think they are about the same price as the Wevos. But what drew my attention is this:
"By using computer engineering and digital design STOMSKI RACING has developed the FIRST truly symmetrical Semi-Solid(SS) Engine Mount, thus allowing you to run stiffer mounts without sacrificing comfort or ride quality. Our symmetrical design allows you to custom tune your ride- determining feel, function, and fun. We provide 3 different durometers of inserts that allow you to custom tune your ride, now, and later if your application might change. Moreover, because SR135 is symmetrical, it FULLY supports and FULLY absorbs in BOTH positions/directions"
Hoping to get feedback from someone who has actually installed them on a 996.

I replaced the mounts today on my 99 C2. It was really quite easy. No need to jack up the car, but absolutely needed to jack up the engine to support it. I also didn’t need to disconnect the secondary air pump connections - just remove the bolts and move the whole thing out of the way.
After the test drive, I wish I could report that the car handles better, shifts better, or has less noise/vibration/harshness, but I cannot really tell. Still glad I did it. The old ones had some sag to them.
Also, my exhaust tips still have a good amount of gap between the bumper. Some folks think that’s a good measure, but it isn’t always.
I went with the least expensive motor mount original replacement - Pelican part (brand Rein) for about $90 each.
