Exclamation '99 Cab top stuck

So, I have a 1999 996 Cabriolet, and the top will only go halfway down and stop. hydraulic level is good. I can disconnect the dog bones from the top to the hydraulic cylinders, and the top will lay down into it's compartment nicely, its just that the hydraulic cylinders only operate halfway. Any ideas?

I had to replace the two cylinders on my last 996 almost exactly one year apart. I sincerely hope you don’t suffer the same fate, but I had the same thing happen with mine as you described. If one of the cylinders is bad I suggest you replace both at once.

Have you checked the positioing potentiometer located on pasenger side below rear window? If you know someone with a Durametric, it can tell you right away if it is faulty. Where are you located?
