Default Lowest priced 2002 Cab 4 in the country! Of course there's a lot of reasons.

I've got a deposit on this 2002 Cab 4. I already know there are quite a few issues and most everyone on here would advise against buying it, but I'm a bit of a risk taker when it comes to buying cars. My last two Porsche's was a 2007 Boxster S with a flood title and a 2011 Cayman S with 160,000 miles and I did very well with both of them. There's an entertaining read about the Cayman S on here if interested search Would you buy a well taken care of Cayman S w/160K. Also I'm no longer a "CoupesOnly" driver, living in Florida has changed that.

I've got quite a bit of info from the carfax. I know about the accidents, rebuilt title and mileage discrepancy. I've also called every place that serviced it. It's had 2 major services and the people that owned it were not shy about spending money on it. Unfortunately, I could not find a history of the IMS being updated. But with all the dealers and repair shops I called on this 911 and a few others, none of them recommend updating the IMS at this point. They all said it's a very small percentage and that when they do fail it's way before reaching 100k miles.

My hope is to find someone who owned or knows about this 911 and or if someone near by would be willing to go take a look at it for me.

Default Used Porsche purchase

While you're at it, buy a lottery ticker.

do you at least have covered parking? in pic 24, looks like there's something hanging from the top, like it's ripped or something. The top may have issues, on top of any other issues you may already know about.

I live very close to Lucky Motors, I could go by and take a look at it for you if you want. If it's outside....that's going to be hard right now because it's about -5F right now. PM me. I would like to see the seats in person.

Yes, I have garage space. The top has a few issues. I faced timed on it and the top of the top is very rough and will need to be replaced. Also it will only open half way. I'm pretty sure it just needs fluid.
It's also missing the glove box handle and the cup holder is broken. When you start the power top the windows go down but not when you push the window switch.

Midnight blue with gray is a nice combo, although I may not be completely impartial as my Turbo is that combo.
Good luck with this car. It seems to be priced so that you could actually part it out and come out even if it came to that.

I've gotten that very same advice from multiple sources. Good or bad, not sure.
At 145k miles I'm in the same boat with my '99 C2 and taking the same strategy. If it was going to prematurely fail it would have already.

Good luck with your purchase if you do. Side note, I've heard (read on here) dealing with top issues on these cabs is pricey. IMHO it might be worth it to find one without top issues for a little more $$$.

I went and looked at the car today, for what it is and the price, it would make somebody a great car, especially somebody that doesn't mind fixing a few things.

When I run the VIN, it appears it was a seal grey car when it left the factory....or at least that's what the VIN decoder website says. The black trim on the car looked pretty sharp, not a purist car, but tastefully modified.

Here's what looks like an early '99 (dual row IMS) at that price... with a hardtop and a not-so-often-seen shade of "blue"? .https://tampa.craigslist.org/psc/ctd...445140504.html

That car isn’t Midnight Blue. It may have been at one time, but it’s not now.

I bought it last week and was loaded on the truck today. I'll be driving my 1st 911 by the end of the week. Thanks again to Paul. He confirmed everything the salesman had been telling me and that along with a lot of calls to the places that serviced it gave me the comfort level to make the purchase without going to see it. May not be for everyone and we will see if I made a good bet or not.
