Default Me, GT3 Euro seats, stock steering wheel :(

Me, GT3 Euro seats, stock steering wheel It was a bad fit. I am 6'2" and 250 lbs, with beefy thighs....what a visual, sorry.

In my 993 I experienced the same problem, with the Euro GT3 seats and a stock wheel. In addition, the stock GT3 seats are a little tight for my butt. I just don't think these seats will work for me. Thank god I didn't lay out $3,000 to $4,000 for a pair.

In my 993, I replaced the stock 380mm wheel with a 350mm wheel and quick release from Rothsport...about $750. For a seat I had a Cobra Suzuka...I had adequate room and my thighs did not bang up against the steering wheel as they now do on the stock steering wheel.

So my question is, can anyone (You larger guys) recommend a race seat that provides a little more room...that I can use with a roll bar and 5 point harnesses?

I admit at 5'10" when I pulled out my Recaro Pole Position seats things did get a bit tighter so I can see your issue. Also, one of my friend/instructor who is 6'3" and fits your description said Euro GT3 seats are no good for him for the same reason but the Pole Positions were fine. So I would start with those. BTW...I still have the Pole position seats.

I'd check out Recaro race buckets. I'm a pretty big guy and and I had them a pair of them in my rally car. They were spacious compared to a lot of the other race buckets I tried.

My car is not a race car, simply DE, an occasional Time Trial and street. I do not want to give up on the factory air bag steering wheel. I don't want to have to install a smaller quick release steering wheel..I'd lose my air bag for the street. I want a race seat and 5/6 point harnesses for those track days....install the seat before a track day, and take it out after.

I am going to try the RECARO Profi SPG XL seats first. Also COBRA has a few seats (IMOLA PRO FIT GT) that may work...but I am partial to Recaro. Thanks to one and all for talking me through this dilemma.

If you lived closer you could try my Recaros before I sell them.

A couple big hints for your seats....I'll bite. What are you looking to sell them for?

Recaro Profi XL should fit you fine. 311RS recovers them if your want something more refined.

The GT3 euro seats w/ their rails are pretty upright. I'm only 5'8" and with my stock sport seats my helmet cleared the ceiling by alot. In my GT3 seats I nearly graze the roof with my helmet on.

For the 6 footers out there, the Recaro Profi SPG XLs as mentioned are probably your best bets. Second might be the Sparco EVO 2 US's which can fit 34-36 waists.

My standard Sparco EVO 2s (taller/slender than the US) will only fit up to 34s comfortably

Height and leg all depends on how you mount them. I hard mount with Planted Mounts (no sliders) and recaro side mounts with Grade 8 hardware everywhere.

You might try this steering wheel extender. I use it to get more room for my legs, 6’3” 260.
