Default The Black Sheep, 996 Revelations

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum. I own a 98, bone stock, manual Carrera and here is my attempt at scattering the clouds over 996. Hope you'll like & share.

Nicely done! Funny that the mid year air cooled cars (74 - 77) were the black sheep for many years. It fit's the 996 reputation perfectly today.

Nice photography! I think the owners of these cars do their best to "scatter the clouds" over the 996 within the greater Porsche community. My car gets a lot of attention from enthusiastic folks who only ask "Is that a real Porsche?", or, at best, "That's a 911, right?". Out of 30 odd encounters so far, nobody has asked me what's up with the headlights. Most people tell me to get black wheels. (LOL, THX.)

I think for the (let me emphasize,) absolutely insane Porsche community the 996 could not possibly ever live up to the manufactured and ever-fluctuating standards of some individuals. I think lots of diehards will eventually forgive the un-roundness of things up front, especially as you pointed out in your video, as cars move away from the purity they once had.

Congrats! I was expecting a black 996 and was pleasantly surprised to see (my favorite) white!

After some time (after around 3 months of purchase) the headlights started to grow on me and yes, I am biased but I love them. And integration of blinkers, fog lights and everything into just one piece is actually a nice touch. Still, I have to confess (now I am whispering) that in terms of looks, my fave is 997 (not the interior though)

Yes and the 964 took a fair share of hits as well back in the day.
