Maybe not the most bling, but the elfin narrow body with twists or carrera IIs, a good suspension & a fresh wax is a classic.

Obvs the ME. But I suspect there are at least 996 different opinions on this particular question

I may be a bit strange, but I think the C4S is by far the worst looking of the 996's. I hate that red strip on the back. Best looking is GT3.

I'm not partial to the C4S either. The reflector strip doesn't do it for me, and I'm not a fan of "cut holes in the car so it will look like that OTHER car that is really hard to cool off" styling.

That does look nice & the colour. Those big holes at the back though ? it's a TURBO right? Is that an AERO wing on the back

Any of the widebody cars. The narrow body cars look good in their own way, especially the GT3. Although lately I have found myself oddly attracted to the early narrowbody 996 carreras.

Geordi La Forge DREAMS of that much reflective plastic.

I haven't seen many ugly cars scroll by just yet...

So my view is really a combination...I really like different elements of Mk1 and Mk2. Love the front of Mk1 but hate the rear of MK1...MK2 rear is really. However, I like the Taco better than the flat top. ALso, love the MK2 GT3 wheels. THe Mk1 aero also has softer features for the chin and the rockers which I also like. So as a result my car has become kind of a frankenstien because I took what I think is the best of the best. In addition, the problem with 996 is that it is underpowered as well. So some of you have seen that I am putting a 997 3.8l engine in as we speak. So while it is about taste, It is one of my favorite cars now that I have made it just right (for me), :-) Oh and disregard the Italian mistress...it was the only side shot I could find.

Love the nose above...especially once I added the center radiator. Not the soft streamlined look and the GT1ish headlights. Really looks nice lowered.

Note how much better the Mk2 bumper looks and how well it integrates with aero package. The bumperettes look beautiful as well. And the Taco wing can look stunning in some angles (not so much in this angle.

Finally, The Mk2 GT3 wheels. I have two sets, one for the track tires and one for street driving. THey are my favorite Porsche wheels.

My father-in-law (not a car person) said my new-to-me 996 MK1 Aero is the most stunning car he's ever seen. Again, NOT a car guy! I am actually noticing a LOT of heads turn when I drive it. I think it's the Aero and the wheels (and the lowered sport suspension helps too). (But for some reason I have been craving fried eggs non stop since I got it ;-)

Now just put the Mk2 rear bumper on and your golden! :-)

So that bumper on your yellow car is a stock, standard MK2?

I would drive any of them, its the feel more than the look but with that said, I grew to appreciate the sleek fastback look of my NB MK2 when my friend came over in his new (new to him) 997. They just look so much more sleek and with those 295's tucked under the rear it just looks fast.
