I have the miltek and love them. just as kraige said. they are there when you want, and not when you don't. not high pitched. miltek really is suited to the flat six.

I almost went with Techart, how are the boxes holding up to any rust?
Has the sound changed since they were new?

No rust but she’s only lived in CA/TX/GA so there’s never been any salt exposure.

Im not sure on the sound as they came with the car and I’ve only had her about 3 years. They are definitely a more “bassy” type of exhaust though. I’ve never had the chance to hear her drive by so I don’t know how different the note is compared to inside the cabin.

I have the stock sport exhaust wired to stay on loud all the time, mated to the Fabspeed 200 cell sport cats. Not sure what specific sound you are looking for, but here is what mine sounds like:

Yeah, Palting's C4S might be the best sounding 996 Carrera I've heard.

Here is a clip of a friend of mines car right after an engine rebuild upgraded a 3.4 punched out to a 3.8. This is on the first start up after engine rebuild. Has equal length headers and muffler by-pass pipes with baffles (CC inserts 3 disc 2 inch) and gutted cats. Sounded pretty good but too loud. Then we installed the SpeedTech x-pipe 200 cell cats to quiten it down and it was amazing !!! High pitch, exotic and very aggressive, but when cruising and driving normal would not get the cops attention. Very motorcycleish !!! I don't have a sound clip of the finished project, but it is the best sounding one I have heard IMHO .

The sound from that combo is intoxicating.
