Default Detailing Question Wiper Cowl

OK. What do you guys use on the wiper cowl? It has the crazy dimpled texture. I can't get it to look right. Either too glossy/splotchy or too dry looking. Any particular product that everyone is using? The rest of the trim is pretty straightforward.

Picture isn't mine, just to show what part I'm talking about. Thanks in advance!

I have used for years a silicone spray I get from Ace Hardware. It really leaves a nice finish and dries to the touch so stuff doesn't stick to it. I'm sure someone else has a suggestion, but this one works for me. Plus, all that looks out of whack to me...know it's not your car but that could use some attention.

I tried several "treatments", but it seemed that they never lasted very long, so I took it off and sprayed it with black plasti-dip. I also did the black (grey/white when faded) insert in the front bumper cover. That was about 2 and a half years ago and they still look great...

I used Armor All Extreme Tire Shine on mine last year and still looks great. Mine was very grey and dull before the application. It may be hard to tell because of the glare, but it looks like it's new.

I use Meguiars ultimate plastic restorer for black plastic and trim. It works well. I have a '99 and the rear bumperettes need it twice a year but everything else just once and it lasts.

For the most part, if it's NOT leather, glass, or painted, I 303 it. Good on plastic, vinyl and rubber.

Thanks for the tips. I just don't want it to end up splotchy, like the back to black trim products can do over time. I've had good luck with adams products and have some 303 laying around I could try too. Thanks for the advice.

I just bought a new one, was surprisingly inexpensive in the P-car parts world - ~$80 or so from memory

Not a bad idea, Especially if the OP's is damaged or sun/weather damaged. About $140 at Suncoast:

You could try Gyeon Q2 Trim. I used it to treat some plastic parts on my other cars and after 3yrs they still look as new.

But considering the price for a new cover I would just go that route.

I removed mine an used a product called "Forever Black". It's a dye and trust me it works! Clean it really good first and apply couple of three coats. I even did my frunk area and my bumper-ettes.

If anyone does replace their cowl, could they try this method on their old one?
