Dear Shirley
It would probably be cheaper to at least have the chain tensioners checked for missing chunks than it would be to search for ghosts and aliens further down the road. If the rebuild reused those parts it could be an issue of regular service. GL with the oil sample & sump drop.
By the way, have you ever been to a Turkish prison? Or any interest in gladiator movies?
Thanks,

Martin (MB Motorsports) reuses a lot of things like poor grammar, useless attacks against Jake Raby and Sneaky Pete, his accomplishments in motorcycle racing, his love for Mobil1 oil, and why the Polish are better at manufacturing bearings, yadda yadda yadda.

Yeah, my review of the complaints against MB Motorsports show them to mainly amount to "I don't like that guy." Probably rightly so.
Still, their website indicates they replace:
"IMS roller bearing upgrade, cylinder head restoration (sanded, resurfaced, pressure check, restored valves, new seals), we install new rod bearings, new main bearings, new piston rings, new gaskets, new seals, new chains, new tensioners, new sliders, new low temp thermostat, new water pump, and much more..."
I am not convinced they are a bad engine builder, just that they have pissed off people on this board.
The oil is off for analysis. When it comes back I will drop the sump and see what is in there. If it is not an alien, but a Polish coal miner, the source of the carbon will be clear.

The Oil Analysis has come back. Normal. I realize that normal is all in the trend, but in terms of wear metals, these are well within the "normal" range. If the engine makes it to another oil change, I will send in a virgin oil sample to get baseline numbers. Next step is to pull the sump...
