It took my dealer tech a lot of time to navigate through the PIWIS menus to find the Vehicle handoff option. It did fix the strange interior light behavior for me.
The dealer tech was not familiar with the issue at all and I had to sit by the Tech and help him through the process. I suspect that if I was not there, he would have just given up.
On the plus side, they did not charge me for it.

I found an old thread on this:

Unfortunately as the 996 gets older some of the tech knowledge could be getting lost.

I have found that I have more info than the dealer on most things just from my research on here.

Always best to go in as informed as possible

Okay so spent a bit of time going through each module, nothing under DME or Alarm that indicates "transport mode" or "energy saving mode". However I did find "Vehicle handover" under the additional menu:

Note the "Alarm system was activated" using this feature solved the problem hawlksfan#12 was having so thanks hawlksfan#12 for testing this!
Good job !! Glad to see you're getting your moneys worth from that PIWIS !!

Thanks! Any excuse to boot it up I've actually spent most of the time in simulation mode, great feature for learning the tool!

Computers and Porsches are definitely my thing!

Have a issue with a new to me 997 car equipped with the Sports Chrono package however its not available in the Multi-Function Display same with the radio and Nav text, that should be there when cycling with the MFD stalk, I also don't see the Cruise control indicator on the dash.
I went into coding using the Durametric and enabled all the options I have however not working.

I suspect its reverted back to handover /delivery mode, the Carfax has 3 key reprograms in the history.
