What do you think is a fair price?
Thinking about upgrading to a newer model (997.2) which means selling my '03 996. Just curious as to what the brain trust on here would think would be a fair price for buyer and seller. I am thinking @$25k or ?
2003 996 - clean with zero issues!
@6K miles on professionally rebuilt motor with new AOS, LN IMSB, Water pump, clutch, etc.. ( from Lone Star of this board, have all the receipts and pictures ) Installed in 2014. (dont drive it much obviously..!)
Bilstein struts
H&R springs
H&R sway bars
997 short shifter
Fister style exhaust
@6K miles on new wheels/tires ( Victor equipment, GT3 sizes )
Porsche Tequiptment roll bar
Factory OEM (real ) GT3 tail
SuperCup front lip spoiler
Headlight cover upgrade
Double Din Nav/Radio
Front strut bar
I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but this is a clean, nicely set up 996.
Thoughts?

How many miles are on the body of the vehicle?Who performed the engine rebuild and what all was replaced? 25k seems like a fair price, but depending on who did the rebuild, the price could go up.

The body has @78K on it. I bought it as a roller with no engine in it and bought the current engine after the rebuild from Lone Star out of Texas.

Nice car, I like that spec & think it's a better value than what I bought. With good rebuild documentation I think $25k is doable. Looks like it was a track car - do the brakes/suspension/body have a lot of wear or does it not have a lot of track miles?

No track time at all. I spoke with the previous (original) owner as well. I put all of the upgrades in it. I have a dedicated track car. I have done 1 AX with it and thats it.

retail or wholesale?
If you can get $25 take it, I'm thinking $22.
$17 wholesale or trade in
take it to CarMax or others who will write you a check and see what they will give you, then see if you can sell it.
Try every avenue you can.

Looks like a nice car with some good upgrades (looks like mine), but it's an '03 996. It's fairly easy to find a nice one for low $20's. To get $25K you'll probably have to ask more, which is unrealistic. If you ask $25K I think you'll do well to get $22-23K from an end user. Wholesale $ to a dealer is going to shock you. GLWS.

First, it's a beautiful, tastefully done car!
A couple points;
a) Good luck convincing anyone you don't have any track time on it when it's sporting a roll bar/cage...If it's not welded in, you might want to remove it and sell separately - good luck covering or explaining the bolt holes though...
b) Those are really nice/expensive wheels. Once again, probably worth more sold separately - put the stock wheels back on for sale (especially if they're in decent shape - if not you might think about re-furbing them).
c) The other "upgrades" don't do a lot to push up the resale value - unless you can remove them and sell on the side.
The upside is that you could now list the car for 22k and still get your 25k by selling the wheels ($2-2.5k ?) and roll cage ($500?) - these are just rough estimates/guesses. GLWS

Nice car.
I think in the market today, you will get $25, bump ask to $27500,
This is the truth about used cars right now, due to the recent tragedies from the huricanes, the used car market has moved from a buyer's market to a seller's market.
While people have gone through these terrible events, the cost of vehicles has risen over 15% on the wholesale end in less than 30 days.
Clean used Porsches are now commanding top dollar.
