I will be getting the Durametric software next week to troubleshoot central locking issues. any suggestions on other first uses?

Check for fault codes in general. Activate systems that you think may or may not be working correctly/intermittently. Check operating temperatures (oil/coolant temps). Check for over-revs etc...etc...etc...
