Default First time Porsche Owner

Hello everyone,

Just bought my first Porsche Wednesday the 23rd. It is a 2000 996 911 Carrera Coupe with 49,450 miles. An absolutely immaculate car which I am now the happy third owner of. Vehicle was meticulously serviced, cleaned, cared for, including having IMS, and rear main seal done by previous owner. This is my second car which I will be using basically whenever weather is permitting and I have the urge. Absolutely loving the car, just thought I would introduce myself.

Any tips/hints/suggestions for a fist time owner feel free to leave a reply.

Nice car, the exterior on that is a nice spec with the blue, hollow twist wheels & litronics. Enjoy

Driving pleasure ++
Pretty much same use I have mine for. Doesn't make good sense to have an older Porsche with low mileage and use as a DD. It's better as a collectible to be enjoyed on road trips and occasional track use. A higher mileage car makes more sense as a DD.
Congratulations,enjoy!

Oh don't worry. Already put 625 miles on it. She will be driven, hard, and often.

Congrats! Looks to be the same color (ocean blue metallic) and year as mine. I just got mine in the spring, and loving every minute driving this thing.

Maybe I'll pass you on the Parkway, I am in Livingston.

Well, drive her, then drive her some more!! And enjoy! You might find some things coming up that need repair so have a few dollars set aside. Once the car stabilized and you still got some dollars left in your pocket you might want to look into doing some work on suspension early next year. Think of worn bushes to replace, new shocks and if it is your type of thing get a ROW M030 kit which lowers the car a bit as well.

Hello and congrats on the new ride! I'm attaching a link to our site's DIY tech articles on the 996 platform that I hope you'll find helpful if you're going to be doing the maintenance and repairs yourself down the line.
