I experienced the same kind of thing with one of my Tahoes. Sold it to a young lady that had never owned a Tahoe or any type of large SUV. She bought it and one week later she lost control, over corrected, and rolled it. The Tahoe was squashed. My father-in-law heard she made it, but I wasn't able to confirm that information. The Tahoe wasn't jacked up or a 4x4 version. It was just the standard RWD Tahoe LT, but still, a huge difference in driving dynamics that she didn't realize when she bought it.

This is my fear for Hoovie...Not sure he possesses the skill nor the experience to drive the LS 911 at speed.

Ditto! Let's hope he doesn't do something stupid just to get a laugh. He tends to be comically unhinged to say the least. hahaha But entertaining still.

My car weighed 2800lbs, 350hp/350tq, on coilovers and turbo wheels. So it handled really nicely and while the power delivery was the exact opposite of the M96, the powerband and wide footprint/weight distribution kept the car planted. I never worried about it stepping out when I didn't want it to.

Here's a video of the last owner tossing it around:

I kept in constant contact with him and he never had an issue with the car and kept modding the engine (he had the car for nearly two years). Car was my DD, took it on many long road trips, let friends drive it, etc. Zero issues (once I figured out how to set up the car.)

Don't know the speed, but it was enough to tear the car apart like a tin can.

There was some discussion on the 944 forum about the value of a LS swapped 944, and I think the consensus was "parts value unless you know and trust the builder." And that's in a car where the LS actually fits without significant structural modification. But there are still some things that aren't exactly trivial -- although they've been proven to work -- like using a Mustang master cylinder and hydroboost to run the brakes.

I guess if you have a roller 951 or 968, the LS swap might work out pretty well. A 996? Not so much.
LOL, a 996 selling for $12-15k is selling for parts value....right now

Its done with a cost recap and thoughts.

My thoughts: He paid 9k for the car I would love to see this 911 turbo for 26k. Around here you can get a high mile automatic for low 30s.

Without paying for labor thats roughly 15k for the swap. Still something to consider if your motor goes and you have more free time than you know what to do with.

^^ Yea, there's another new story on this accident, where the father admitted that Patrick loved to push the limits on any machine he "piloted".
