I hate that video, was it made as a joke? Its like they tried to draw it out as long as possible and never really get to any true content outside of repeating that its dangerous to buy used tires (and showing 90% unrelated clips of tires being serviced). Don't waste your time watching it - it never gets to anything of substance.
Here's a recap: Don't buy used tires that you think are new. There are people on street corners selling 'new' tires that they've dremmeled out the treads of to make them appear new. Everyone is out to get you. Used tires will kill you. Yada yada yada.

Dammit, I had a sweet deal lined up on some recapped trailer tires for my 996.
Half the "revealing" footage in that hack piece could be from building up and cutting tread into new tires. Some of the footage also looked like heavy equipment tire overhauls; I've never seen an ore hauler have a high-speed blowout on the highway.

When I was a student and was driving a peugeot 205 gti I tried saving some money by buying remolded tires, they were total garbage, the balancing shop had to add so much weight to try and balance them it was ridiculous and they still didn't balance properly.
I buy only good brand tires now for my cars and motorcycles...

Nobody - which is why the video doesn't have anything to do with buying used passenger car tires. Almost no retreads are sold in the US for passenger cars these days. The video also shows recap/retreaded tires, which aren't the same as "used" tires.
Other than not being applicable in any way to the 996 or anything else I drive, though, I found it very useful.
