Default Will a 986 Boxster 2.5/2.7 crankshaft work in a 996 3.4 engine?

Pardon my ignorance but will a Boxster 2.5/2.7 crankshaft work in 996 3.4 engine?

These crankshafts are much cheaper and seem to be identical.

Thanks for your the help!

Apprently I can use the crankshaft from a 986 Boxster 2.7 or 3.2 engine for my 996 3.4 engine. Parts are interchangeable! Found the info here in the related threads that appear on mobile!

You need the same IMS drive gear design from a similar year, what year is your engine?

Looks like your looking at $3.5 k for a crank then you will probably need a different ims and cams to match the crank with the later style chain, you might be better getting a used engine if you can, what about LA dismantlers??

I found the solution. The 2.7 and 3.2 crank from the boxster 986 works with the 3.4 996 engine. Got a perfect polished crank ready to use for $600.

Thanks for for everyone's help.
