What's a new 996 GT3 decklid and spoiler worth these days?
Was cleaning out the garage of some old boxes of parts and happened upon a 996 gt3 oem factory primed decklid, spoiler and wiring harness. It's brand new. I realize retail is $13,000+ but obviously that's not realistic. Is $7,000 a good asking price? I'm basing this on a couple for sale ads I've found online.
Thanks guys

$7K for the spoiler and decklid? Is this used?
I have no idea what it's worth, but I'm thinking $7K is a price that you can list it for and NEVER sell it. I would think $3K would be very high. But what do I know.

Is it a real GT3 lid or just an Aerokit lid for a normal car? They are different and not directly compatible (different air box setup) which will probably limit your market substantially.

You can ask $7k if you like - I doubt you'll get it though... Who knows maybe you will, just don't hold your breath...

As gnat mentioned there is a difference between the GT3 and AeroKit if you can either post a pic of the underside, part number or tell us if the air intake is on the left or right side we can go from there.
This begs a different question, how does one "stumble" across such an expensive item in ones garage??

"Expensive" is a relative word... In the world of Porsche's $7k or even $13k isn't necessarily considered a large sum of money. The 996 and it's current value level has skewed this somewhat as it has opened up the brand to a different income level - remember that these things cost $80-$100k when they were new (at least until they figure out how much it costs to fix these things...). Hence my first post where I said it's doubtful he'll get anywhere near what the spoiler cost when it was new - maybe if he finds an owner with deep pockets that just has to have a "genuine Porsche" spoiler
