Life expectancy of a Air Injection cutoff valve?
So, I'm getting a check engine light with P0410 & P1411 codes.
The air injection cutoff valve (#993-113-245-01) was replaced along with several vacuum hoses/lines barely over a year ago. Assuming that the air injection cutoff valve is causing the failure, do these valves have a history of failing this quickly?

Can you hear the SAI pump running? If yes, visually check if any of the vacuum hoses are undone. It's also possible the SAI changeover valve has failed. It's next to the vacuum tank (need to remove the alternator to gain access).
What year is your 996?

Get to a good write up on how to remove your alternator or you will have loads of problems in doing so. You will most certainly break the very brittle evap lines behind the alternator.

No problems with removing the alternator. Did that a couple weeks ago.
1999. All vacuum hoses are connected and in good condition. I haven't checked to listen to the SAI pump but, I assume it is running. Everything sounds pretty normal, but, I haven't listened specifically for the SAI pump. Where is the changeover valve mounted to?

Behind the alternator - very cramped.
Leaks - check the entire system with a MightyVac or similar . Visual checks are worthless.
I replace with silicone tube and brass fittings because repeating the work is not enjoyable.
Valves - remove and bench test to be sure. Tedious !
SAI pump - should run for around 90 seconds after a cold start.Hairdryer noise from Bank 1 area
