Another Ipod Install
Here’s my Ipod install;
I used a Belkin power cable for the Ipod. The Belkin plug has a female end for a mini-plug that you can use for audio out to the receiver and it will all tuck behind the dash nice and clean. I bought a generic cigarette lighter socket from the auto parts store and connected that behind the dash using the Telephone power cable 5001.524-276 from Becker connecting the power to the lighter to the IGNITION hot, that way it wont be powering the Ipod all the time thus draning the battery.
I then used the cable from Becker, 1319.116-276 to connect AUX to the receiver. I encountered a buzz, so I also installed a ground loop isolator, # 270-054 from Radio Shack.
As far as a mount, I bought a leather one on Ebay from Pods Plus and the back has a flap that holds on by friction.
Well, there you have it. It is a very simple and effective way to do it.
Good Luck
Tom
