YouTube interpretation of our car

This is a fun video of our cars and one persons interpretation of them.

I would say it's a 993 not a 996 and the boost is .8 bar. He compares it to an F40 and a McLaren F1. I think he is a little out of touch but that's great that is what he thinks it is similar to. I guess it is nice of him to appreciate it so much.

11.27min...did I hear good enough? If so that would be the first time I hear of that option...

Host is somewhat lost, but coold to see another "review" video of ours cars:to_order:

I founds the guy quite irritating, and often wrong, like saying "you wanna see everything you wanna know about 996 Turbo" and then shows the 993. His enthusiasm is good ... but I could not make it through the entire video ...

Nurburger 06-12-2017 05:37 PM

^ I didn't make it through the first 10 seconds.

Yeah this guy is a big You-Tuber; one of the heavy hitters out there.
He usually has some good points actually and i find him interesting despite projecting a bit of a wormy/diminutive image. Clearly not too informed on the 993tt. Misses stuff like: the 996 twists on that car and the misspoken 996 reference of course.

He's different from most all out there b/c i think he is well off. Which makes me wonder b/c most You-Tubers do it for the income/to make money... wonder why he does it?

But like op said it's interesting to see how 993tt is viewed out there....

Shark 06-13-2017 01:49 PM

I watch his videos quite often.....he is NOT an authority on cars older than 10 years of age. In this case, I don't think he had any intention to drive a 993TT until Glenn (the owner) showed up to drive Rob's 488 and was driving it.

It was easy to tell that Glenn gave him all the background on 993TTs....because Glenn is also factually challenged and Rob was just parroting the stuff Glenn gets wrong. I had to give up watching Glenn's videos for that reason:surr:

Youtube needs good 993TT content....and stuff like this isn't.

"Poorsh" These guys who make themselves out to be knowledgeable and can't even pronounce Porsche correctly. One strike against credibility right there. Then he comes out with Bad Boys talk - which is obviously a 964T... he gets to that but why make the connection - very different cars.

ah well...

1 bar is 18 lbs!! Did he not take grade 7 science?

Mike J 06-15-2017 12:38 AM

1 bar is 14.5 psi.

the guy is an amateur at best.

I do not think he would know much about the mechanical end of any car.

Street guy, driving newer street cars for youtube content.

He did however give a nice outsider's view of the car.

That's my point Mike. The vid guys both wrongly agree it's 18 lbs. Our 0.8 boost is only 11.6 lbs.

Slate993tt 06-20-2017 08:37 PM

Well I for one agreed with much of what he said in terms of the ever rising costs may have taken the fun out of owning one. I bought mine about 8 years ago with intentions of driving it daily/weekly and never caring about it mileage or mods done. Fast forward and now everything i do I have to second guess or contemplate and it's taken some of the fun out of it.

The 993tt was always my favorite street model 911 growing up and I vowed to one day own one. I'm very fortunate to have bought it when I did but would've been just fine if it never went up a dollar in price since that day I purchased. I'm not sure if today I had $120K to go spend on a used car unfortunately I buy a 993tt again and that's coming from someone who absolutely loves these cars.

I'm sure if the day comes that I am forced to sell it I will be thankful but I honestly hope that day never comes as it's intended to be given to my son some 30 years from now...by whcih time I'm sure it won't even be allowed on the streets because it's an internal combustion smog monster. hahahaha.

I'm not always as clear as I should be rippin' these comments off and if one didn't watch the vid, how could anyone with grade 6 science make the vid guys' blunder!?:roflmao:
