Terrible host, I guess he gets views for at least being original. Not sure I've seen such a comparo, perfect match up test would be against the 355 IMO.

What caught my attention was his comment about the Turbos brakes. Does he not have any muscles (to be fair he seemed to compare it to todays 911's but the 993 Turbo brakes are still very impressive). His thesis fails when he doesn't mention the 993's odd vent controls. Also surprised he thought the Turbo's clutch was easy - I understand the Ferrari's is very very stiff but I was thinking in terms of engagement. He doesn't live in SF.
I am not sure who I dislike more this guy or Shmee. Kinda wish he would of hit the deer

My brother had this white 96 TT, and the FY 355TB. I was able to drive both, just a bit. Different loves for each. As always, he sold them. I wanted the 355, even if it took me 20 years to pay for it. When he bought the PS 96 TT, he knew he was keeping it. He said "they're bank vaults". My son was about 6-7 yrs old in the pic. He's in the ARMY now.

Doug will be coming to Texas in the next couple of months to drive my Diablo....and I gave him alot of crap for not including it in an "ultimate" test of 90s supercars
The Diablo would leave the TR for dead (over 100 hp difference), looks better, 3X rarer, and has better steering and brakes.
As I told Doug, I would love a 993TT but would not be caught dead in a butt-ugly TR
Doug is fun to watch, and has found a niche where humor is just as important as the cars.

You are correct as the Diablo is rarer and has held its value very well over the years.. has not been a whole lot of fluctuation.
Enjoy that sassy Italian!

Yep.. agree, not the two cars I would have compared.. and I thought he was a bit corny.
Diablo would have been the perfect comparison. A friend in Kansas had a TR & a Diablo at the same time. Couldn't wait for me to come visit cause we could take both cars out together (his sons weren't old enough to drive then). What a comparison.. the TR was actually very smooth and refined and wailed like an F1 car with the Tubi, where-as his Diablo was beast that was ready to be pushed.. it too had one helluva sound with its custom exhaust (cant remember what it was but it was Lambo specific).. Oh how I loved that car!!

Yep, my car have a quicksilver exhaust and cat bypass, and I think they only make Lamborghini stuff so it might have been the same brand.
The Countach and Diablo both had a time where the pricing was down the tubes. I passed on several '99 Roadsters with 35k miles or so for $75-85k in 2013. I paid $120k for my 9k mile car in 2014 after the market started heating up. In 2012, sub $100k Countachs were reasonably available.
Great having a raging V12 behind your head with the top off

+1 the guy sucks, almost as bad as the rims on the TR. I've had several TRs over the years. There is a reason I still own 2 993 Turbo S' and a C4S and no TRs.

I can also remember Countachs being as low as $60k.. I should have bit the bullet and made the move then! Doh!
The exhaust in question was not Quicksilver as they have made exhaust for other makes as well. I believe it was Burtoni, as I remember going to his shop a couple of times and he was strictly Lambo... and quite a guy too!
All these cars have different personalities, that's why its so hard not to trade up or down from time to time or own multiple vehicles.. they're just all unique in a special way.
Have fun!
