They may spec replacement parts as the same but as built from new they are different.

The 993 turbo con-rod is the same all the way through the 997tt. The 993 NA rod is tiny by comparison.

Now that's not to discourage someone from converting a NA to turbo. Even with stock rods 400hp is safe if keeping RPMs in check.

Yah, gotta watch it with Pet and updates. To really tell, you need a backdated reference at the time the cars were made to check the part numbers.

If you look it up on Sunset's part web site

the current part number is from a 996 - 996-1-3-975-70. Blasphemy!

The 959 was liquid cooled? I actually did not know that if it's true.

Many numbers were listed, also a chassis break which may add confusion.

All of these numbers are now superseded to the 996 106 975 70 set of 6
