You guys should read the Rennlist Charter before posting links to eBay stuff.
"9. You may not post links to "Rennlist" products, 'deals' and "group buys" offered by non-supporting commercial Vendors/Sponsors targeted at Rennlist subscribers. More times then not, folks are asked to do that for the "free advertising" that the Vendor enjoys (i.e. "scam the list"). Also - This includes links to your e-Bay Auctions! DO NOT POST THEM as "Hey - check these out - I just saw these!"."

Sorry guys. It wasn't my intention to violate the Rennlist Charter. As a consequence I have deleted my post.
I just want to assure all of you that I do not have any affiliation with the seller whatsoever.

Viken,
Just to be clear... if a Rennlist member has NO affiliation whatsoever with a seller, and happens across an item he thinks may interest other Rennlisters, is this forbidden as well? Most of us want to be "law-abiders"; just unsure of the rules.

I know what you mean and that would normally be OK. However, we don't know for sure whether or not the particular poster is affiliated with the selling party. And, I am not saying that Patrick is, but we cannot make exceptions to the rules. John says no eBay links in his Charter and I am just going by that. OTOH, I may be interpreting that the wrong way. Is that what you're thinking?

I for one find the Porsche related E Bay links which people post from time to time very interesting. There is no way I would be able to find those items since I don't search any of the E Bay sites very often. Just my opinion.

With regard to posting eBay links...
First of all let me say that I really enjoy this site. I learn a lot, laugh a lot, and have met some really nice folks here. I need to say that because I've noticed that criticism, even well-intentioned, is often met with a "love it or leave it" attitude. I don't want to leave this site... I'd like to help make it a better place.
I would suggest changing the charter such that posting an unaffiliated eBay ad would be OK. The poster should declare himself "unaffiliated". If it turns out that the poster is untruthful... eject him with no mercy. I feel that the benefits to this board of pointing out some Porsche gizmo on eBay would far outweigh the occassional lying scumbag that may try to use this forum for advertising his own wares.
There. One old fart's opinion. What do you guys think?

- It is clearly not SPAM
- The poster is NOT affiliated with the seller on eBay
- The poster is NOT the seller on eBay
I apologize for making a big deal of this.
