Any tools that will allow real time reading of RPM
I have a Bosch Hammer but it doesn't seem to allow me to access the engine ECU.
I am really just trying to get a true reading of idle speed as the tach is not accurate enough for fine tuning. Durametric maybe?
Note that I have a 96 with 97 ECU flashed for immobilizer delete.
I tried search but didn't come up with anything. Apologies if it has indeed been covered.
Thanks and have a nice weekend.

most of the obd 2 readers will give you the RPM.
Durametric will give real time data, including rpm.
RPM is on Pin #9, I've used it previously for shift lights.

I used this https://www.scangauge.com for rpm/obd 2 code reading/erasing/calculating fuel use/intake temps etc. (before I got my race-technology data recorder/gauges)
