Default Help please

Somthing wrong with my 1st and reverse gear. They jump out of gear. Need to push in, hold the gear stick and release the clutch when engaging them. Otherwise they jumped out.

What could be the problem. Hooe font need to overgaul the gear box. Milage about 70k miles

First thing is to check the health of your motor mounts. Your trans mount and all of the shift linkage/bushings. Eliminate those and hopefully it's one (or more) of those, and not an internal trans issue. Good luck

Hope it's somewhere in the bushings/linkage but if not then it's the 1-2 shifter fork.
I broke mine a few years ago.
