A bit OT here but I'm still trying to figure what cars (markets) exactly came equipped with the SAI system besides USA , as my 993tt doesn't have it so far I can tell, also my 95 C2 RoW when took off the engine I didn't find the pump or the like on it, same as a RoW 96' V-Ram, no SAI pump or components I took off the engine.

I wouldn't sweat the re-paint.... Beautiful car & the deviated black carpets are a huge selling point with that interior color IMO.

Looking at the Pelican ad, it does appear to be very well cared for, that is a plus vs say a low mileage car that has been just sitting in the garage with minimal maintenance.

To the OP, good luck seems like a good buy! Sometimes pay a bit more now and save even more in the long run is a good mind set.

Diego - Hmm interesting point about now SAI on ROW cars, that would make sense too.

Looks like a very well cared for turbo. The paint, at least from the pictures, looks great.

Bought it.

The respray is the respray. I'm going to drive it probably 500 miles a year. I'll keep the paint nice and hopefully in 20 years someone will take it off my hands despite the respray. I'll just have 20 years of great memories.

As always, thanks to the rennlist community for guiding me along and giving great feedback along the process.

Congratulations on the TT! I suspect in 20 years quite a few 993 TTs will wear resprays, much like the 911s from the 1970s do today.

Congratulation on the arena red Turbo, beautiful car

Diego here is something interesting about Sai on RoW 993 Turbo in German
you can sleep well, that problem belongs only to Us model
Stop and Go bei sehr hohen Außentemparaturen) zu früzeitigem Verschleiß.

Sounds great! Thanks for the info. This clarify me that RoW are, again, different animals over the US models and someone pointed me that all had the SAI fitted which is not true

Congrats on the purchase Derek. As you noted enjoy it for the next 20 years or so.
