Had this car not been mostly repainted, with four new panels, major bondo and a tax lien against it, it would have sold ten times over already. 993 GT2 is the real, real deal in modern Porsche collectability, and an Evo - one of 21 (and 20 remaining, one totaled)? Just imagine if this was a Ferrari, it would be well north of $5M.

"Nice" is how your grandmother describes the fat girl she is trying to set you up on a blind date with! The GT2 is intense, requires your full attention at all times, and is as analog as it gets.

not an Evo. it is second run of 993GT2 street car with higher hp 450 over 430 from first series. Has steel doors (aluminum doors no longer available)
Evo was a race version car only. Was built from 96 to 98 to meet various GT series specs i.e. in 96 IMSA 3.8l , secan intercooler, 2 K27's with separate pop off valve. restrictor 41 mm putting out 640 hp...

Feels awesome even at reasonable speeds. The numbers suggest it's far to stiff for the road, but it works. Weighty, serious, connected, involving... I should have sold my soul back when it could have covered one. Shame about the lag, but I guess you really can't have everything.

Well, considering Porsche issues formal documentation for these 21 cars identifying them as "Evo's", granted Strassenversion, I'm going to stand behind my original post. Yes, certainly, there were four versions of the race car that were labeled "Evo", short for evolution (and arguably more technically correct), but when an invoice from the factory describes a ZWS Strassenversion as an Evo, then that is what it is.

News to me...appreciate your feedback, I am not aware that "Invoices" were labeled Evo...any proof? Would like to add to my extensive GT2 database
