started to remove some of the Plasti dip
It's been about 2 years with the car dip'd. Wanted a change so started to take some of it off. Going to just remove the stuff from the doors and front fenders for now and see how I like it. 2 tone like some of the race car paint schemes :roll eyes:
Coming off pretty easily, it's easiest to take off where it's thicker. The thinner parts break and you have to restart it by rolling with your fingers. (note to self, make plasti dip thick..)

Nice. I just did my track wheels with it. They got a bit rough after 3 track events. So I ended up just pulling it all off, and spray painting them. That way I can just touch up spots that chip or get scuffed.

noticed the areas where the plasti dip was scuffed/chipped was more difficult to take off, also some thin residue that came off easily with cleaner wax.
I want to get 'vintage gold' to do my F328's wheels.

I'm always amazed I can drive 4 hours to the track, run as fast or faster than anything else, and drive home ... then repeat... (in a old car - there was a guy who came to ask me what year my car was and I told him it was probably the same age as him - and I was right!)

A tweeked 993tt is a true giant slayer! I was at Silverstone in December and took great pleasure in losing a C63 black edition with all of it's wings, bulges and barking exhaust.
The Turbo is not only a fantastic road car but awesome on track too. I'm sure the original marketing suggested the same.

Sorry Ryojo, for taking your thread off "track" :-)
Even though it may not be the most "app peeling" look, I'd leave it. Just so your front bumper, hood and rear wings are still protected from chunks of rubber and such.

Agreed it doesn't quite look right. I'll take the rest it off perhaps after the tack season. Might put the stock wing and nose back on. Or plasti dip it another color.
