the problem is that I expect passing cars to splash/spray some muddy snow on the car (not much, but a bit...). The Tequipment and Carnewal covers do not appear to have any waterproof characteristics.

There is an additional outdoor cover part number. I bought it to accompany mine. It goes over the soft cover and has a cable lock to keep it on.
