We refused to do any repair work in my yacht yard if we had to deal with state farm. This may be a local situation, but they were only ever concerned with the cheapest way out. I was very pleased with Grundy Ins. on my TT. The policy was agreed value, zero deductible, no mileage restrictions but it couldn't go in any track events, no DE or autocross. I had a claim when the car was vandalized in Las Vegas. I could have the car repaired wherever I chose. They were fast with a check and very concerned that I was satisfied with their service as well as the repair. Give them a try....Chris

Make sure you get it in writing. Let's say she leaves and you file a claim. They'll be like "she misled you, we can't do that". Sorry, I just don't trust much of anything or anybody. Not the best way to live, but I'm a survivor.

I pay roughly 2k per year for agreed value with Hagerty of 75k on my 97 TT with 63,000 miles and my 91' 928 S4 at a 24k value.
Note to self, raise agreed value.
Good thread, thanks for starting it.
Cheers,
Bryan

Bryan - Is there a limit on that Hagerty policy as far as number of days that you can commute? I just got a quote from Hagerty this morning and they limit daily commuting to 20 days per year. By the way, the quote is $1436 annually for a $90,000 stated value policy with a $1000 deductible. Only OEM parts would be used in repairs and it covers 3500 miles or less are year. And the agent confirmed that I would be able to use the mechanic of my choice on any accident repair.

Whatever the premium or the insurer, we become ever more afraid to drive our cars and thus limiting our enjoyment of them. We don't have 100% faith that the insurance company will cover us without dispute when we need them. For most of us, the car must be covered for its replacement (or agreed) value to have full confidence in driving it on a regular basis. I have Geico on the 993 c2s for $1400 per year and 3000 miles. The agent said they will "factor in market prices" if the car were totaled. Perhaps I should get Hagerty instead.

Here is a snapshot of the wording in the endorsement in my State Farm Antique and Classic Policy:
2. LIMITS AND LOSS SETTLEMENT - COMPREHENSIVE COVERAGE AND COLLISION COVERAGE
If loss is to your car, item 1.b(1) is changed to read:
"You and We agree that the actual cash value of your car is the vehicle value shown on the declarations Page unless:
1. your car has been damaged;
2. parts or equipment have been removed from your car, or
3. your car's condition has changed due to abuse or neglect
after the vehicle value shown on the Declarations Page was agreed to and prior to the loss.
If they approve the change to $100k, my new policy will cost around $400/year. ~3000 miles per year.

OP thanks for starting this thread. I'm in almost the exact situation as you are. Car has 70K on it and in VG condition but not perfect or a garage queen. I bought the car to drive and enjoy. I knew it would appreciate but not like these things have lately. I'm currently at State farm with a 5000 mile per year policy. I'm gonna have my agent look into the details and get it all sorted out.

I had a professional appraisal done at the advice of an acquaintance who is an estimator for our Government run insurance company... used a experienced guy that does appraisals for the insurance company (http://www.csautomotiveappraisals.com/contact.html). Pretty thorough, took pictures of everything and looked at my folder of receipts, graded and put together a nice booklet about my car. He appraised my car at 127K CAD. Not sure what to do with it though, probably talk to an Hagerty agent as hillsdonsmith mentions.
I don't think about it at all, still having fun on the track, drive it as often as I can. Makes it more enjoyable to drive something I know is valued by others as much it is valued by me!

I haven't been. I recall someone offering it or working on offering track day insurance locally. Will ask around. I suspect the 500 bucks would work for 50K car, but suspect it'll be 1000ish bucks for a 100K car (1ish%)... That would start to make track days expensive
