Increasing agreed value insurance

Increasing agreed value insurance
With the rising prices of 993's, I thought it would be a good idea to also increase my agreed value. I have insurance through American Collectors. I tried to increase it to 115,000 from 90,000 but they wouldn't do it. $90k was max. This is for a 1997 with 13k miles. I referenced most of the current turbo's that are on the market today, but they still wouldn't increase it.
I called Chubb today, same thing.
Does anyone have a higher agreed value and if so, which insurance company are you using?
Thanks.

Chubb wanted me to get a porsche dealership to value the car, my 1996tt has got 58k miles so not even close to the same money as yours! I was thinking a value of 85-90!

Race Car
With a little coaxing, Haggerty (Canada) bumped mine up to almost what I think it would cost to replace, including tax. I have an older, detailed appraisal on record from an appraiser they know well. The senior underwriters asked for current pictures and price references. I sent 'em pics, some ads and suggested they call Sloan, Willhoit and Segal. The latter two know my car. Took 1 day to get done and they did not request an updated appraisal.

I use American Collectors through USAA as well, but the lowest mileage tier that exists in my state is 5k per year.
That said, the agreed value limits offered by the same insurance company should not vary by state, assuming similar mileage and condition.

Thanks EntropyChaser993... I called American Collectors from work this time and asked what the maximum value would be for my car and was suprisingly told it was $111k. After telling her the previous underwriter told me $90k a couple of days ago, she said it must have been a "mistake" and bumped it up to $111k. Mileage cap stays the same at 2500/yr.
Thanks for all the replies!

I've had 2 993s insured with American Collectors for years, and I recently called them to increase the agreed values for both cars. The maximum agreed value they offered for my 96 TT is on the low side. Speaking to a more informed person there might make things easier.
Thank you.

I'm also thinking of going this route.
My car is owned by and registered to my company.
They (Hagerty, Grundy, American) say they will only insure if the car and policy is in an individual's name.
Anyone have agreed value on a car with corporate ownership?

I was on with American Collectors today. I am in NJ. They said they can go to 30k for a 993 nb, but without arguing they want to value it at 21k ( 76k miles). I told them that was simply not realistic and it could not be replaced for that price.
I asked what they use as a guide and they said NADA and Old Car Price Guide. They seem out of touch.
I may switch if I cant get this corrected. It may be a case of cheap being expensive.

State Farm
I had zero issues with agreed value from State Farm. My family and I have had the same agent for nearly thirty years though. I got 150k policy. Something like 91.00/month

Interesting, as my State Farm agent said he couldn't do an agreed policy, but said "Don't worry, if the car is totaled out, we'll pay you what it's worth based on fair values." Ya, right, like I'm gonna be okay with that! LOL
$91 a month for $150k policy sounds cheap! I had no problem getting Grundy to do a $150k policy on my 96, but its more like $160/month.
