Wow. Current EBay bid is already up to $79,100 and I don't think this one even has Hardback Sport seats

That certainly eases the 10k I just dumped in mine for a clutch, viscous coupler, and a few "while you are in there" things.

Is this a legitimate sale? I recall the Riv blue C2S also had a "sale" on eBay only to fall through during transaction...

It is legit. I watched the last 30 minutes of the auction live. The price ran up almost $5K in the last 10-15 minutes

Seems believable in this market, if you look at the NA forum there is a thread about a C2 on Ebay hitting mid 50s too.

Good to know. I just took my car out to shake the winter cobwebs off it today. I still won't sell it at $70K with 99K miles on it..

Yep, twas a valid sale. I've been following this forum for perhaps 10 years, with the intent of purchase. A driving force in this intent is that my wife and I bought a low mileage 1965 911 in 1976 (currently with 51K miles) and in storage. Seemed like they'll make a nice pair to own. Paid perhaps 10-15K more than I would have , had I purchased earlier (got into back-country flying here in Idaho--now over for med reasons). Anyway, bought aforementioned 993 located in Chicago---am looking for advice as to reputable transporters to its new home in Idaho. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance SL

Congrats on the purchase! And don't worry about the purchase price....these car values are only going higher! Only 612 '97 TT's brought into the U.S. I'll bet you will get $100K+ offers on that car in 5 years.

Wow, first post and you bought a Guards Red TT that we were watching sell at auction. Kudos to you!

Enjoy it in good health! Sorry I can't be of any help on the transport issues as I ended up finding my TT locally.
