Default Steering wheel advice sought

I've been thinking about upgrading the steering wheel in my car which has a classic gray interior. The obvious candidate is a 996 wheel. From the browsing I've done, it appears that other grays were used in the 996/986 interiors. Would you be inclined to

1. install a black wheel; I do have black floor mats in the car and there are of course the black dash accents

2. put in the closest gray available (don't know how close that will be)

3. buy a tired black or whatever wheel and have it redone in classic gray

other suggestions cheerfully accepted as well

I would buy a GT2 wheel - and then get it re-padded.

Or 996 Wheel - again - re padded !

Both in Black.

There was some posts on the 993 NA forum about some polish place that did a GREAT job?

SImon.

How about trial and error try the 996 in black and see how it looks
I think it would probably look okay and if you don't like it you can always try to have it dyed to the right color
now I have some experience and dying leather I've re-done my seats and I've dyed a blue shift boot to black but I'm not sure if I would trust myself on a steering wheel
Whoever does that would really have to know what they are doing

I know a few people on Renn have used these people:

I was kind of serious about getting another 993 or compatible wheel modded but I gotta watch the $$$ for all the other potential things I'm fixing/upgrading.

You have the part number listed which is for a 3 spoke wheel, not 4 spoke

Here is my black wheel in a classic grey interior.
I'm not a big fan of the combo and will be selling the wheel and bag once my new grey / black gemballa wheel arrives and I decide if i like it.

you could have first "dibs" if you like the black look.

$750 + shipping from 92009.

Craig

PS post up some photo's of your car, I MUCH prefer grey interiors over black in a SY car.
