Default Increase 993 Turbo handling and shifting precision

.

Introducing new Rennlist site sponsor: FUNCTION-FIRST Performance

TRANSMISSION MOUNT INSERT
Fitment: 964/993 AWD

The OEM transmission mount was designed for ride comfort and is prone to sagging and tearing – above all, it is a detriment to performance. Its empty voids allow for too much transmission movement, resulting in sloppy handling, numbed responsiveness, and imprecise shifting. Racecars utilize a solid metal mount to mediate this, which is impractical for street use as it transfers extreme noise and vibration into the cabin.

So how do you achieve the benefits of a solid mount while retaining daily drivability? Function-First Performance offers the only available solution that is both economical and easy to install. Our durable urethane rubber insert simply slips in to fill and fortify the empty voids of the OEM mount - prevent premature bushing wear and undesirable transmission movement, all while transmitting minimal added noise and vibration.

The result? Handling is taut and predictable; power delivery is immediate and smooth; gear changes are crisp and confident.

Installation can be completed with basic hand tools in about one hour. Pressing out the stock transmission mount bushing is NOT necessary, so you can easily return your car to stock condition when selling!

Thanks!
Luka

Check my "homegrown rsr tranny mount" post. You can make your own with urethane and washers.
aftermarketsuspensionparts.com sells urethane kits that let you make your own.

Cool, got mine today. Had to put new brake pads on the cayenne first after work and only got to loosening the bolts before I had to go pick up my older daughter. Will finish up tomorrow. Looking at it though, since I've done the 2wd conversion and 2wd FD trany support thing I might notice as much of a difference but will see later tomorrow.

Mine's now installed, had to the trimming Quad mentioned. Can't say I notice a significant difference but may be due to the extra FD 2wd mount I have. Worth the entertainment for part of the day and at least the placebo me thinks.

Thanks for the feedback, Basal!

Ya, I looked into the FD 2WD conversion mount, and it's pretty stout. The Inserts will help in limiting the driveline movement, but I agree that the improvement will be somewhat diminished if you already have the 2WD conversion mount.

Luka, I've had more seat time and I do think there is an incremental/noticeable improvement in shifting (I have he FD sssk/bits). I'd recommend/do it again. Thanx for developing goodies for our old cars!
